The RopeWatcher Mobile uses the magneto-inductive MRT method to scan wire ropes for both localized faults (LF), such as broken wires, and loss of metallic area (LMA) caused by corrosion or wear. These are defects that develop from the inside out and are invisible to visual inspection.

The device is designed to be operated by a trained field technician. It uses permanent NdFeB magnets as its field source, and the onboard software automatically detects rope diameter, travel speed and magnetic polarity — so the operator focuses on running the inspection, not configuring the equipment.

A single rope travel, one complete lift or lowering cycle captures a full diagnostic scan of the rope's entire length. Results are displayed in real time, and a complete inspection report can be generated directly from the device.
