The Magneto-Inductive Method - MRT Explained

Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT) is a non-destructive testing (NDT) technique referenced in ISO 4309 as the leading standard for detecting internal defects in wire ropes.

Unlike visual inspection, which only reveals surface damage, MRT measures changes in the magnetic field along the rope to identify both loss of metallic cross-section and localized faults, including broken wires, corrosion, and internal wear that would otherwise go undetected.
